Melbourne retailers have been complaining of slumping sales in the industry for some time now… They need to look no farther than the prices on their merchandise. I nearly had a heart attack the first time I went into a shoe store to pick up a pair of runners as they were $250 for a similar pair that I was used to paying at most $75 for.
Enter… the internet. Â It is the great equalizer… You cant expect people to pay $200-300 for a pair of shoes that can be purchased online for less than half the cost. (yes shipping is around $30 but you are still saving a lot of $$$; just order a couple pairs at a time.)
So retailers, lower your prices. In the meantime, myself and friends will order our gear from Eastbay
(This post focuses on shoes but most clothing, apparel etc is crazy expensive as well. Nothing a trip to Thailand wont fix!)
